WHO IS PMK ?

PMK stands for Paul Mbiya Kabenga, and the number 34 represents his personal symbol a tribute to NBA superstart Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose mindset and work ethic deeply inspire him.

 

Paul Mbiya is a Congolese basketball player, born on April 11, 2005, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

 

At just 20 years old, this 7’0″ center is known for his imposing physique and  a remarkable 7’8″ wingspan.

 

Discovered by Yacine Fylla, founder of Ballers Academy, it’s where Paul Mbiya discovers his love for basketball. 

He kept evolving developing his games at the NBA Academy Africa and before making waves with ASVEL’s U21 team in France (where he dominated with averages of 15.5 points and 11.6 rebounds).

 

Now, Paul has achieved a major milestone by joining the University of Kansas, one of the most storied college basketball programs in the United States.

 

His ultimate dream? To bring his unique talent and relentless drive to the NBA, where scouts already view him as a top prospect for the future.

Born in 2005 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Paul Mbiya Kabenga’s story starts in Kinshasa, where his passion for basketball first took shape.

It was there that Anthony Myers Pate co founder of ballers academy alongside his congelese partner, discovered him recognizing Paul’s raw talent, athleticism, and remarkable potential.
That moment marked the first step in what would become an international basketball journey, setting the foundation for a promising global career.

Joins NBA Academy Africa in Senegal to develop his skills.
Training with the best in Africa, sharpening his craft and potential. Gaining international experience and competing against elite prospects from across the continent.

2023 – 2025 |

Welcome To ASVEL

Joined the ASVEL team in Lyon-Villeurbanne. Excels with U21 and getting valuable experience practicing with the professional squad.
Impressing on both youth and professional levels, establishing himself as a top prospect.

Averages 15.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, 3.1 blocks with ASVEL U21.
